A meeting with Khun Jimlim
10 February 2012
I met Khun Karatnoot Juntree(Khun Jimlim), PR & Marketing Manager of JW Marriott Khao Lak, for the first time at my very first networking event. She was a very beautiful woman and also very cheerful, energetic and attractive. I was very impressed by her self-confidence. My boss told me that I should learn from Khun Jimlim about building confidence and the way to become a better brand representative. After a networking event, I had a chance to see her in other events but unfortunately we didn’t have a chance to chat.
Yesterday, I got my first chance to have an informal meeting with Khun jimlim and I think it was a good opportunity for me to know her better. We met at 2pm and after we talked for 10 minutes, she had to pop-up for another meeting but she came back to me 15 minutes later. She is a real busy woman and from my perspective, a very successful PR & Marketing Manager as well. From having a conversation with her, it makes me realize that being positive is a great factor that influence your work as well. She told me that when you focus on positive things then you will attract to it. Even if you are facing with some negative events, your optimism will help you seek out the good side of it and help you move on.
This is the whole interview with Khun Jimlim
Q: What is your job position? And what do you have to do in your role?
A: My job position is PR & Marketing and I am responsible for promoting JW Marriot Khao Lak. Most of the time, my role includes attending networking events, conferences and meetings and I have many of them in the schedule right now.
Q: Do you enjoy working in this position?
A: Yes, I love this job. If I can rate it, I will give it 11 out of 10! I put more than 110% of my effort for this job. Before I attended this position, I made an agreement with the GM that the working conditions that I want must be
- A Positive environment
- The ability to learn new things everyday
- Have a chance to travel
- Have a chance to exercise 2 hours a day (But this condition hasn’t been fulfilled yet!)
Q: What is the most valuable experience you got from working here?
A: The best experience is I can learn something new every single day. I meet a lot of people from many backgrounds and have a conversation with them, talk to them, create a relationship and many of them become my friends.
Q: What are you passionate about?
A: Wow, do you really want me to tell you all of them? I am passionate about many things! I am passionate about my work, new learning, new experiences, events and people. I am also passionate about being successful in what I am doing, being healthy and traveling the world. And I would love to learn new cultures and become a TV presenter on a travel show as well.
Q: If you have more money, what will you invest in?
A: I think I will invest in Property Development or Real Estate Industry because my family owns some land outside Bangkok.
Q: What is your career goal?
A: For me, I think I’ll just do the best right now and the light at the end of the tunnel will tell you.
Q: What is your life goal?
A: To have my own family but first of all, I need to find a good boyfriend!
Before I left, she told me that the most important thing for her about working is appreciation. She is motivated by the appreciation and gratefulness from people. When you do your best and people can see and value it, it gives me energy to continue doing more than my best for every task. Personally, I couldn’t agree more about this. I am willing to do my best for the people who appreciate my work as well. I am so thankful to Simon for being supportive and appreciative so I can work at my full potential to contribute to Broadgate.
