Broadgate Easy Panel Construction
13 January 2012
As the Broadgate Group expands its interest into construction, I spent some time with Jason King, our newly appointed Managing Director – Broadgate Easy Panel Construction to find out more information on Easy Panel and to know Jason a little better.
Q: You have been in the role for a only a short time, what is your understanding of Easy Panel and its benefits?
A: Easy panel has obvious ecological benefits, such as being cooler in summer and warmer in winter. It’s easy to put together and cuts down construction time all at a significantly reduced cost to the consumer. With an already massive shortfall across the world in low cost housing its enabling builders to service the needs of a massive growth market.
Q: Do you see any disadvantages to the technology?
A: No. Due to the rapid growth in the developing third world there is massive market that needs to be serviced.
Q: What are your objectives for Broadgate Easy Panel in 2012?
A: Throughout 2012 we plan to expand the operation throughout Thailand and Cambodia and later globally. We are looking to take on partners as franchisees to develop factories and manufacture the boards throughout South East Asia. In the years to come we are looking at Central and South America as there is a huge growth market there.
Q: What are you passionate about?
A: I believe if you are not being conscientious, you may as well be unconscious. In an industry where good customer service, communication and ongoing relationship development are not always maintained to the highest level, I feel passionate about my new role at Broadgate and the development of world class customer service values.
Q: Whats been your biggest expenditure where you have thought, this has been a total waste of money?
A: My watch, a tag heuer grand carrera. Which cost me 4200 AUD – I hardly ever wear it for fear of it being stolen. I never wear watches anyway, I find them uncomfortable and my mobile phone tells me the time anyway.
Q: Whats your attitude towards investing?
A: I know that it is important to make small steps on an ongoing basis towards achieving big goals. When faced with the challenge of realising a dream which may seem at the time unachievable , we must understand we can achieve anything we set our mind to if we just focus on the small details. These accumulate to make big things happen over time.
Q: What is your 2012 new years resolution?
A: I am coming into my 41st year, it would be nice at some stage to have a family.
Q: Who inspires you?
A: I would have to say my boss John Mills. No thats a joke its Leo Messi. Not just because of individual football brilliance but also for his desire and loyalty for his team mates and club. He is a true gentlemen of the beautiful game.
