Passionate About Giving
20 November 2011
I feel so glad and fortunate that I can be a part of a company that not only provides good service to their clients but who also supports their staff to contribute back to the society as well. I also believe the same thing about giving back to society that all of us have a responsibility for taking good care of the place we live in. So I try to find time for volunteering as much as possible.
I just came back from our Corporate Social Responsibility trip two days ago and today I spent the last day of the weekend on flood relief. I went to Wat Duang Kae temple for preparing, cooking and packing food, which will be distributed to the flood victims in many areas inside Bangkok.
I arrived at the temple at 13.00 and immediately went to pack rice and fried chicken, which was really hot. I moved to pack salted eggs with spicy paste but there was a problem that the paste wasn’t tasty enough and needed more lime juice added.
After that I moved to pack rice with omelet and the smell was so good that it made me feel hungry.
A few more tasks I did before going home were cutting and squeezing lime juice in another round and peeling boiled eggs.
I decided to leave at 5pm when I felt exhausted and ready to go back home for dinner. I smelt of chicken blood, oil and lime juice but most of all I felt so happy that I can provide help for the people in trouble. I find doing good things is not hard at all, it just requires a very simple thing; making an effort with passion to give happiness to others.
