General Uthai Shinawatra

Chairman of the Advisory Board

With more than 35 years service in the Military, General Uthai is a former Deputy Permanent Secretary for Defense. He has also been Secretary to the National Economic and Social Compensation Committee, a co-operative venture between the UK Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Defense in Thailand.

Currently he is studying for a Doctorate in Public Policy at Kasem Bundit University.

General Uthai sits on the Advisory Board of Broadgate Financial.

Dr. Anatchai Rattakul

Chairman of the Board

Dr Anatchai Rattakul graduated with a doctorate in Public Policy from Ramkhamhang University, and has since acquired more than 30 years of working experience in banking and finance, including a period as Vice President in the Business Development Division of Siam City Bank.

During the same period he has held a string of important political appointments:

1983-1989: Advisor to H.E. The Deputy Prime Minister.
1996-2000: Advisor to the Governor of Bangkok; Special Attaché to the Parliamentary Committee on Banking & Finance and to the Foreign Affairs Committee.
1998-2000: Advisor to the Board of the Metropolitan Rapid Transit Authority (MRTA).
2010-2011: Advisor to the Deputy Minister of Commerce.

After the recent elections (2011) he was appointed as Honorary Advisor to the Senate Standing Committee on Banking and Finance.

In recognition of his services to the nation, Dr. Anatchai has been honored with the Insignia of Knight Grand Condor (Special Class) in the Most Exalted order of the White Elephant.

Dr. Anatchai is Chairman of the Board of Broadgate Financial.

Executive Board

William Lyons

Director

Will began his 29-year career in international finance after completing his Masters degree in International Business at the University of South Carolina, having completed his undergraduate work in International Relations at the University of the South (USA) and University College, Oxford (UK).

He initially focused on North American and European markets, through his work in international commercial and correspondent banking in the US, UK and German offices for Bank of America and Wells Fargo.

In the early 1990s Will then moved from commercial banking to corporate finance and investment analysis through both his own corporate analysis firm and beginning in 2002, with international securities firm Westminter Securities on Wall Street and then Quam in Hong Kong.

Will’s responsibilities at Broadgate include cross-border corporate and project finance, franchise finance, planning and budgeting and Government and NGO relations. He is also responsible directly for both North American and South American operations.

Will is fluent in English and German, conversant in French and working on his Spanish and Thai language skills.

Will currently serves on an Executive Board of Broadgate Financial.

John Mills

President & Chief Executive Officer

John graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Salford, UK, after which he served in Her Majesty’s Royal Air Force as a Pilot Officer, but due to a sports injury several years later had to resign his commission and then embark on his career in finance.

John has worked for approximately 28 years in the financial markets with various international financial institutions including Morgan Grenfell and Investco, specialising in mergers, acquisitions and venture capital.

In 2008 John moved permanently to Thailand where he founded Broadgate Financial. As President and CEO he is principally responsible for the strategic vision, direction and structured growth of the business. He is particularly active in developing co-operation opportunities between Thai financial institutions, international financial institutions, Thai and Cambodian Government Ministries, infrastructure, construction, property development and land acquisition projects.

Simon Osborne

Chief Brand Officer

Simon has over 10 years retail banking experience and is a multi award winning Visa Qualified Fraud Analyst. He initiated and developed the UK’s first electronic fraud declaration and PARS (proactive, asset, recovery, strategy) which has helped UK banks save millions in fraud losses. Simon constantly demonstrates an ability to think without limitations which made him a natural choice for the role of Chief Brand Officer (and Executive Board Director) for Broadgate Financial. He heads Marketing, Public Relations, Branding, Communications and Client Services.

William Kershaw

Director

William (Bill) Kershaw has a Bachelor degree in Economics and a Masters degree in International Marketing. His career started in the world of advertising, working below-the-line on Cadbury’s, Typhoo Tea and BP.

He then went on holiday to Cape Town, South Africa and stayed for 7 years! He worked in Client Service on Brands such as Caltex and Reckitt and Coleman, ending up as Managing Director, BBDO Cape Town.

After returning to London Bill joined a start up agency and won world class brands Turtle Wax, Needlers Confectionary and Ronseal Varnish. His role was both Client Service Director and Head of Planning.

Probably his career high point was co-inventing British Airways Air Miles with Sir Keith Mills.

Bill currently serves on the Executive Board of Broadgate Financial.

Warabodee Plampliu

Executive Assistant to CEO & Chairman

As Executive Assistant to the CEO and Chairman, Khun Warabodee (Poo) is responsible for arranging executive level meetings for banking projects.

Prior to joining Broadgate Financial, she worked and trained with AIA Insurance Thailand, where she gained much experience in the implementation and application of modern Accounting Software. Because of this background she also has the responsibiity for overall monitoring of Broadgate Financial's accounting systems.

Khun Warabodee holds a Masters degree in Applied Statistics in Major Decision Technology and Management from the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA).

Tutiyaporn Nitchai

Operations Manager

Tutiyaporn Nitichai (Pu) has been working with Broadgate as the Operations Manager since August 2009. She has full responsibility for all aspects of client and company administration and business infrastructure.

She holds a Masters degree from the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand, majoring in Information Technology, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Kasetsart University, Thailand.

Paul Axford

Director

Paul moved permanently to Thailand in 2002 after travelling in Asia during 2001. He had previously worked in the insurance sector in the UK acquiring over 10 years experience in underwriting risks, claims servicing and managing branch offices and sales teams.

Paul is a Director of Broadgate Financial and holds the Award in Financial Planning Certificate issued by the Chartered Insurance Institute, UK.

Paul Fleming

Managing Director Investment Banking & Institutional Group

Paul enjoyed a career in investment banking for over 30 years, including working for world class institutions ING and Merrill Lynch, in various roles including the establishment of a Proprietary Trading Desk managing a $4 billion book. Later in his career, Paul moved on to specialise in the development of Structured Derivative Products, building financial solutions focusing on the hedge fund space.

Paul’s tenure in Banking has allowed him to gain expert experience in Global Capital Markets, having spent considerable time in Hong Kong, Tokyo, New York and London, along withan an in depth knowledge of the Regulatory Frameworks. Paul has gained the professional qualifications to be registered as an advisor with the SEC (USA), and the FSA (UK) during his Investment Banking career.

Paul relocated to Thailand permanently, and joined The Broadgate Group in August 2010, where his wealth of experience has lent itself to developing and building out Broadgate’s Discretionary Portfolio Trading offering, opening new investment opportunities for S. E. Asia based investors for the first time.
